Attacks on Christianity

Government in Crisis: We’re going to cover two subjects in this article. The first is what the Democrats of the new majority House of Congress are attempting to accomplish since they took office this past January 3, 2019. The second has to do with the fact that so-called social justice curriculum is making inroads into many Christian schools and even home school curriculum. Parents and administrators need to be on their guard now more than ever. Now that the Democrats have gained the majority in the House of Representatives, their agenda has been made apparent. On the very first day, the following was put forth
Move to protect Robert Mueller from being fired by President Trump[1] in spite of the fact that the President of the United States has the power to fire and remove Mueller from his position overseeing a special counsel.
Preparations from the first day the new Congress was seated toward impeaching President Trump also occurred[2],[3] Regardless of whether or not people like Donald Trump or even respect him, so far, he has done absolutely nothing that merits impeachment.
Newly elected Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the Democrat Socialist from New York, is supporting a bill that would raise taxes to 70% on those who earn the greatest amount of money.[4] This is in spite of the fact that it has been proven repeatedly that even if this type of bill passed into law, it would not solve financial problems, and in fact, would likely make things worse for America.
The Democrats unveiled a bill that would force all presidents to release their full tax returns.[5] This is interesting considering the Democrats did not exercise any concern regarding President Obama’s tax returns or his college transcripts, etc.
A Democrat TN lawmaker is pushing to abolish the Electoral College. Because of Hillary’s loss, some are convinced that if the popular vote was the determining factor (supposedly, she won this), then she would be president of the United States.
There are other things the Democrats are attempting to accomplish as well. They want to spend BILLIONS on abortions for other countries. In other words, Democrats want American taxpayers to foot the bill for people in other countries to be able to murder unborn children. One thing the Democrats remain adamant about is that there should be no funding for the border wall. This is in spite of the fact that just a few years ago, nearly all Democrats believed that the wall was a good thing and voted to approve funds for it. Now it’s horrendous, xenophobic, racist, and all the rest. Illegal aliens continue to use tax-based resources when they have no right to them. Beyond this, the increase in crime from some illegal aliens could easily be avoided if they were simply not allowed into the USA. Many of these people have criminal records in their home countries and are not good candidates for asylum in the USA. Regarding the firing of Robert Mueller, the president of the United States has the right to fire Robert Mueller at any time. The Democrats want Mueller in place to protect his “witch hunt,” hoping that at any time he will release information indicating Trump’s necessary impeachment. If Robert Mueller had anything at all, wouldn’t it have been released quite some time ago? No indictments thus far are any closer to impeaching Trump than before Mueller began. Regarding the elimination of the Electoral College, the only reason Democrats want this is because they believe they can win via the popular vote. Let’s look at some facts concerning the Electoral College and this last presidential election.
There are 3,141 counties in the United States.
Trump won 3,084 of them.
Clinton won 57.
There are 62 counties in New York State.
Trump won 46 of them.
Clinton won 16.
Clinton won the popular vote by approximately 1.5 million votes.
In the 5 counties that encompass N.Y.C. (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Richmond, and Queens), Clinton received well over 2 million more votes than Trump. (Clinton only won 4 of these counties; Trump won Richmond.)
Some say, therefore, these 5 counties alone more than accounted for Clinton winning the popular vote of the entire country.
These 5 counties comprise 319 square miles.
The United States is comprised of 3,797,000 square miles.
When you have a country that encompasses almost 4 million square miles of territory, it would be ludicrous to even suggest that the vote of those that encompass a mere 319 square miles should dictate the outcome of a national election.
Essentially the Democrats want “blue” states like New York or California to determine the outcome of the presidential election. The Electoral College evens the playing field. Congress must not allow the Electoral College to be disassembled. Republican lawmakers in the Senate (which now has a GOP majority) need to hold the line against this type of fascism. In fact, it appears that everything the Democrats want to accomplish is based on some form of fascism. It is their way or the highway. They are not interested in compromise to accomplish their goals. They are willing to do whatever it takes, as they’ve stated, “by any means necessary” to see their goals come to fruition. If they had the majority in the Senate as well as the House, bringing their fascist goals to fruition would be far easier. We must pray and continue to pressure our congressional representatives that they do not give into the unconstitutional demands of the Democrats. Social Justice Coming for Christian Education: As someone who graduated from a number of Christian institutions, I can attest to the fact that more and more Christian schools and colleges are moving away from a Scriptural foundation to one based on “feelings” alone. This exchange of truth for feeling is changing society in obvious ways. It’s been deemed “political correctness” or “emotional virtue,” but make no mistake, it is firmly based in Cultural Marxism. This form of communism changes society by suppressing biblical truth and instead bases “truth” on how people are taught to feel about things. Cultural Marxism conquers a society via a form of peer pressure, forcing people into silence who do not share the perceived “majority” viewpoint. Often this viewpoint is not shared with the majority but stems from a very vocal minority attempting to appear as the majority. Those at Watch Unto Prayer[6] discuss this in detail. I can attest to the fact that the school I received my bachelor’s degree in Bible from jumped the shark both theologically and doctrinally a number of years ago. Philadelphia College of Bible, co-founded by C. I. Scofield is no longer even in existence. Not even the name remains. The university has changed so drastically that I wonder how much longer the Bible will even be taught there. Like the secular institution of public school decades ago, we are now seeing headway into Christian elementary and high school institutions. “According to the ‘The New Evangelical Social Engagement’ by Brian Steensland and Philip Goff, Acton Institute founder Father Sirico, ‘combining free market approaches with Catholic social thought,’ argues that ‘there is no social justice without economic freedom…Instead of a vast welfare state, social justice is about people fulfilling their responsibilities in justice to their neighbor.’ Therefore, with the support of the Kern Family Foundation, Acton has sponsored curriculum initiatives at thirteen evangelical seminaries.’ (p. 63)”[7] Lest we think this is only affecting Roman Catholic institutions, we need to think again. The report goes on to state the following regarding the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC): “These seminaries include Dr. Albert Mohler’s Southern Seminary which sponsors The Commonweal Project. Note the ‘Social Gospel’ with a strong emphasis on “Social Justice” in this initiative in the videos by Mohler and Os Guinness. With the help of Acton Institute and over a dozen partners of the same persuasions, Dr. Mohler appears to be endorsing a Rethink of Marxist social policy, while partners like ‘Poverty Cure .org’ – an Acton offshoot – are marketing a RETHINK of Missions to a ‘Social Justice’ mandate.”[8] In the past I’ve discussed the many problems within the SBC on my own blog and it is tragic to see so many who were at one time staunchly conservative now lean to the left where the gospel and doctrinal truth is concerned. The top echelon of leaders within the SBC is dangerously opposed to the pure gospel of Jesus Christ. Instead they’ve embraced “social justice” as a means of meeting the needs of people who, though they desperately need the gospel, are often not presented the true gospel, but instead are presented with social strategies to help them “achieve.” Most of this achievement comes through the aid of the government or godless organizations. The Watch Unto Prayer article focuses on the fact that one particular organization, the Kern Family Foundation, is very much involved in promoting Christian education. Yet it has been shown that many of the organizations Kern Family Foundation support and/or rely on are heavily steeped in supporting the LBGTQ+ policies. “The very same sources involved in both promoting and providing curriculum for the seminaries and hard wiring our pastors to both be and birth social justice warriors are now coming at our children through home school, private, and Christian high school economic curriculum. What is critical to note is the 2013 discussion of the goals of the curriculum in 13 evangelical seminaries at the time (this now numbers 23 seminaries plus undergrad in Christian universities) is that the goal is ‘Social Engagement.’ The Faith and Works focus is driven by seeking ‘Common Ground for the Common Good.’ Acton’s work in economics discusses The Humane Economy and notes the notion of a ‘humane economy’ has existed since the time of Karl Marx. Indeed, it was Marx, and Catholic social thinkers of the late nineteenth century that gave birth to the term…. we are still in search of the humane economy. We are moving ever so slowly toward this goal.” I’ve said this before, but it bears repeating. It is likely that with President Trump, God has pressed the “pause” button. During his tenure as president, we will hopefully continue to see good things for America. More than likely, we will also continue to see a ramped-up reaction from the left to anything President Trump attempts to accomplish. The true colors of the left have become apparent with their support of illegal aliens, push to legalize sanctuary cities, and much more. Once President Trump is gone from office, another will take his place. We have no guarantee that the next president will not once again try to maneuver the United States into a position of full submission to Marxist philosophies. We see this clearly in the political arena and are beginning to see it in greater measure within the arena of Christian institutions and home schooling. Understanding what is happening in society is the best defense against it. While we might not be able to reverse what is happening in society, we can do our part to guard the institutions (churches, schools, etc.) we are part of. To this end, we must continually offer prayers on behalf of those whom God has placed over us in our local churches and Christian schools. Those on the front lines must make decisions according to God’s will, not based on feelings, but based on the truth of God’s Word alone. May we pray that they will continue to be faithful to Him who called them. May God grant them discernment and wisdom to ferret out error.
